fnlaoir Hi, thank you for asking this question. Journey also offers handwriting in iPad. I believe the feature that you are referring to in Day One is a built-in handwriting feature on iPad OS.

    I didn't mean that specific feature. What I had in mind was how to draw freely without it being converted into text afterward, essentially the ability to draw as well. I may have misunderstood the Day One feature, thinking it allowed free drawing without text conversion.

    I have a Surface Laptop Studio with Windows 11 and an Onyx Boox Note Air 2 with the latest version.

      fnlaoir Hi, you can access the draw feature in the iPad. Click the attachment icon and select Drawing. Do note that the drawing feature will crash in the newly released iPad OS 17 preview. We're working on a fix soon.

          I'd also really like this, I have a premium membership but I don't use it because of missing this feature and instead am still journalling in a notepad app.

          I don't care about it being converted to text - I'd actually prefer it wasn't! I just want to be able to handwrite my entries, I have a stylus (s-pen) and it's so much more natural for me than typing.

          Using a samsung s22 ultra this would move me to buy this. I did not knew that it would be that hard to find a multi Plattform app that does not restrict me to keyboard or handwriting 🙂

          Just bumping and coming to say I've wanted this feature for years. It's like the perfect journaling app otherwise, but I need to handwrite nowadays. My handwriting isn't great and my iPad isn't huge so I have a hard time doing the handwriting conversion thing. I also would like to write on my Windows desktop version (I have a 2-in-1 with a stylus). It would revamp my interest in the app if this feature was added! Bonus points for a pencil for doodling as well! Idk if anyone else wants all the features I just listed but if they do you're not alone!

              I’m going to revive this as a want. I’d also like to be able to actually write with my Apple Pencil instead of just typing. I tried the ‘insert drawing’ feature and it’s not working properly for me (I’m using iPad with OS 18.5). Besides that, that’s not really what we’re going for. We don’t just want to insert doodles, but rather have handwritten entries instead of typed ones. I’d like to take this request a step further and also suggest the ability to drag and drop elements like stickers, digital papers, etc. in a ‘junk journal’ style. I love journey and I’ve been using it for years, but as I’m looking to get more creative with my journal entries, I may have to utilize something like GoodNotes instead. Are the features we’d like even a possibility in terms of programming?
