The ability to write by hand in the journal would be a fantastic feature for me. As you may know, "Day One" offers this functionality, but it's limited to the iPad. After extensive research - I actually spent over 5 hours looking into this - I couldn't find a journaling app that provides this feature for both tablets and PCs. Introducing this feature could set you apart significantly from other software.

To start, simply being able to write, much like with a pen, without additional features such as various colors, would be more than sufficient.

fnlaoir Hi, thank you for asking this question. Journey also offers handwriting in iPad. I believe the feature that you are referring to in Day One is a built-in handwriting feature on iPad OS.

Could you share with us your tablet and Pc model? Thanks!

I didn't mean that specific feature. What I had in mind was how to draw freely without it being converted into text afterward, essentially the ability to draw as well. I may have misunderstood the Day One feature, thinking it allowed free drawing without text conversion.

I have a Surface Laptop Studio with Windows 11 and an Onyx Boox Note Air 2 with the latest version.

fnlaoir Hi, you can access the draw feature in the iPad. Click the attachment icon and select Drawing. Do note that the drawing feature will crash in the newly released iPad OS 17 preview. We're working on a fix soon.

Thank you for the information, but I don't own an iPad. Still, I appreciate the prompt response!

@fnlaoir Sure, thanks for letting us know! I've filed this to my team as a feature request. Should you have any questions, feel free to drop us a message in this forum.

Any news is good news...I'd be delighted to see this addition to the feature family, as well. 😌

        Thank you,

I'd also really like this, I have a premium membership but I don't use it because of missing this feature and instead am still journalling in a notepad app.

I don't care about it being converted to text - I'd actually prefer it wasn't! I just want to be able to handwrite my entries, I have a stylus (s-pen) and it's so much more natural for me than typing.

Using a samsung s22 ultra this would move me to buy this. I did not knew that it would be that hard to find a multi Plattform app that does not restrict me to keyboard or handwriting 🙂

        Hope this is coming

Hi all! I'll keep you posted on this feature soon. 🙂
