  • Journey Desktop 2024: Sneak Peek of New Desktop App for Windows, Mac & Linux

I wasn't even aware that you've put out a new app! Just downloaded it and it's syncing my entries.

    Hi.
I'm quite disappointed about the new Desktop app compared to the old version 2.
The way I can set a color for a text must be joke. I use some standard colors for some entries and now I suppose to create them every time with values for RBG? No that can't be your serious idea.

cue0 Hi, have you filed this feature request in the forum before? If not, I would recommend you to do so.

John Hi, Any update on ability to change the UI font? I feel like everything in the app is way too small, the font, the buttons, etc. Even the PLUS sign to create a new journal entry, which should be prominent given that's the primary purpose of the app, is super small. Sometimes I forget where it is and can't find it.

SKG990 I have already sent this feedback to my team. Thanks!

This question is for John at 2AppStudio.

When do you plan to issue a desktop version of Journey that can be purchased as a Premium license, so that all of the features can be used? This already exists for Android. Not everyone wants a software subscription and to store their data on your servers.

I have searched your website and "coming soon" is all I could find (from 10 months ago). That's a strange definition of "soon" for a software company.

Bee-Deutung Thank you for your inquiry. We are working towards releasing the Premium version, which requires significant coding efforts. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Hi @John , here is Royen. I asked two questions about the Windows version, but you didn't reply to me.

I’ve been a loyal subscriber for many years, including holding Premium licenses for your older Windows version, as well as the Android and iOS versions. I’ve also subscribed to the Journey Desktop 2024 membership for the past six months.

However, the issues I raised have still not been fixed or addressed:
In the Journey Desktop 2024 version, when I start a new journal entry, I still can’t drag photos directly into the window. Also, the time shown is always the photo’s modified time instead of the original time it was taken.

This has been very frustrating, and honestly, I feel like the money I’ve spent hasn’t been worth it — I’m quite disappointed and upset.

            Royen
Did you try copying the photo, then pasting (Windows Ctrl +V) it into the Journey app window?
I sold my Windows PC last year, but up to that point Ctrl+V worked for me on Windows 10 & 11 Home Edition.

Royen Hi! Journey desktop supports drag and drop in the media dialog at the moment. You can refer to the screen recording below:

Did you modify the photos in other apps? If so, could you let me know which photo editing software you use?

              John

              Hi John,
Great to hear back from you! I just wanted to ask — would it be possible to bring back the old feature where we could drag photos directly into the writing area to upload them, without needing to click the “Media” button separately?

              like older windows version

I’m using Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing.
Also, as Bee-Deutung mentioned — when will the Premium license be available?
