Private cloud, local network storage options

Hi there. I love the journey app. I’m looking for an app to write on iPad, iOS, and Mac OS but have my data completely private and stored in only my own local server or my own web server. I’ll pay for life time membership for all platforms if this is supported. Thank you.

On the web, there is an option to use "self-hosted sync drive" but I cannot find any details on how this works and how to setup. I see it's beta. Is there any guidance available on how to set this up so I can test?
