1. Timezone switch issue, which actually exists for both v2 and v5. If you write entries in different timezones, the entries would be messed up if you go to another timezone. For example, I live in Dubai so GMT+4 is my usual timezone. But I recently went to southeast Asia in GMT+7/8, so all the entries got pushed to 1 day later if the entries were written in late night. For me I write daily entries (i.e. diary), so if the entries are messed up, it would appear like one day I did not write anything and then the other day I wrote 2 entries. Imagine if you go to GMT+0 from GMT-12 and the whole entries would get so messed up you don't know what happened on a specific date. I don't understand why not just keep the date fixed after the entry is saved.
  2. The location function becomes even more unusable. For example I am in Dubai and I recently went to Singapore. So if I want to write an entry about my Singapore trip (while I am in Dubai), and I type in Singapore in the location function, I cannot find Singapore in the dropdown box, instead there are only places in Dubai that has the name "Singapore" in it. This is so stupid, I cannot imagine who would design this function this way. In v2 you can easily search all the places in the world and you will see the correct location in the dropdown.
  3. To continue on the location function, in both v2 and v5 you basically cannot search any of the places in China. I am not sure if this is an issue with OpenStreetMap, but anyway if you want to tag even some of the biggest cities (like Guangzhou) in China, you would not be able to find them, let alone the smaller ones.
  4. Once you open a new entry, you would not be able to see all the other entries. In v2 a new entry opens up a new window and you can easily see all the other entries for reference.

@harrychou Hi, I would like to assure you that everything is working as intended.

  1. Firstly, the date/time of the entries are shown in your current time zone in the calendar. If you would like to show the entries in the entry time zone in the calendar, please file a separate feature request.

  2. Would you agree that the search function displays locations from nearest to furthest? If so, that is how the app is designed. If the places around Dubai contains "Singapore," we cannot prevent that from happening. Why don't you try searching for a more specific place, such as Marina Bay Sands or Singapore Zoo, which will then appear in the search results? Additionally, you can easily drag and drop the pin to Singapore. I'm not sure why you haven't tried that.

The below screenshot shows a search of Marina Bay Sands Singapore from Dubai:

The below screenshot shows a search of Singapore Zoo from Dubai:

If you search for "Singapore" in Dubai, the results appear correct, as they show nearby places containing the word "Singapore." For example, "Singapore Deli Restaurant".

  1. Google Maps and OpenStreetMap are banned in China. This is the same across v2 and v5 app.

  2. We designed the app to be a single-window application for easy maintenance. This approach helps keep costs down. We also received feedback that users are not in favor of a multi-window app.
