I understand you guys are releasing Journey proprietary sync., but does that mean that the Google Drive sync option will eventually go away, or will you continue to support Google Drive sync?
Journey Cloud Storage: Is Google Drive Going Away?
- Edited
Hi Ultreya , thank you for asking this question. Google Drive option will still be available. We will continue to support Google Drive sync. However, we are not able to add some of the features in Google Drive (hence, the reason for releasing Journey cloud sync). This includes shared journals, sorting by chronological order in web, fast & on-demand sync, elastic search in web, media, atlas & calendar in web, video streaming and more. We also plan to release an open-source version of Journey Cloud sync so that users can choose to self-host the journal entries on their servers/computers.
Here is how it will look like:
Journey cloud sync will be opened for public testing on July 2023. We will announce more information in our blog.
This is awesome!
From my understanding, it won't be possible for Journey sync to grab all Google Drive data automatically (upon user request), correct? I will have to download bulk entry and upload to Journey proprietary sync? Will there be auto cloud-to-cloud sync feature, do you think? I have way too many entries to have to download just to upload manually again.
